Mahogany Woman #2
“Mahogany Woman #2" - I carved this right out of art school. A group of sculpture students took a pickup to Pensacola, FL and filled it up full with Honduras mahogany (which you can't get now) for 100 dollars. This chunk was actually a bump off a very large log. She originally laid on a large box base that took up too much room. I was picking her up from a gallery and the workers there had leaned it up against a wall and I was inspired. From then on she hung from a large, well planted, hook on a wall and has been from then on.
